3D printers help

Hey all has anyone had a play with 3d printers ? I need some advice. I have been allowed to purchase one for work but on a limited budget of 1000 quid all in . It would naturally only be used for work :-)
I really like the one at maplins the Vellaman K8200. Does anyone know if it is any good. ? Or any alternatives ?
Would be appreciative of any feedback.

It's a shame no-one can help Ant... I've been finding lots of cool things on the web that can be 3d printed... quad leg extentions, gimbal brackets, VTX mounts, GoPro pan/tilts etc...
I think if we had a resident 3D printer on here, there'd be a lot of people wanting stuff made.
Hope you find your info mate, keep us updated.

Cheers bud - after a lot more research I have gone for the Velleman. All in with three rolls of filament it came to 830 quid. Raised the purchase order today - it's great when work pay :-)
Primarily I will be using it for building models to show customers design concepts and also prototype new product components but let's face it the odd quad part might end up getting made. !
Will keep you all informed. - cheers

Well here it is , 2 days to build the frame and a couple of weeks of tedious soldering :-).
Have to say though if you follow the instructions you can't go wrong just don't over tighten the extruded nozzle. - don't ask !
Good print quality and great service / back up from Maplins and Velleman. They both sent me a spare nozzle for free within 3 days when I bust mine !

I'm still learning !! Print time depends in fill % etc etc . At 50% fill it does these three legs in an hour !
3d printed quads - hmmmmmm !!
