Quickest way to get a FPV cam?
« on: February 01, 2012, 09:20:20 AM »
Not looking to spend over the odds. Anyone know of a UK supplier for a decent flight cam?

Like the WDR600 is £40 ish off securitycamera2000 but will take about a month to get here.

I did buy my Cinemizers and EzOSD off Simon but is it just me or are his cameras well expensive?

My last cam was £35 off securitycamera2000 and was great. The decent 12v cam he does is a WDR700 for £90!! For a flight cam....

I have the WDR700 and it is absolutely brilliant. Worth £90, yeah I suppose, but I don't look anywhere else. If only I had know that Foxtech and BEV do the WDR750 for about half the price...

There are people on Ebay (UK sellers) who are selling those cheap HK board style cams, which are perfectly good TBH.

The 2g cam Simon sells is about £20 or so if I remember rightly, of course the quality aint great but it's cheap and means you can put it on a lot of stuff.

the prices on Simon's website are that high because there's no-one else in the UK for him to compete with.

Can you imagine how much our fuel bills would be if the ONLY company was British Gas?   same concept

We all know we can get the same items for less from overseas... even if you factor in shipping, customs AND parcel force rip off fees, the 5.8ghz airwave receiver is still cheaper to buy from readymaderc BUT..... it takes a bit longer to get here and we are an impatient bunch so we will pay the high prices... I did

what we need is for someone in the UK to open an online FPV shop, bring some healthy competition into the market and hopefully drive down the costs a bit too.

Come and see me at UAVshop.co.uk - I have one cheap cam and one great one that kicks all the others.

Price is quite high I know (still less than firstpersonview.co.uk though) but they cost a lot, and in the end you get what you pay for!

I'm only just starting to focus on FPV gear, so sorry if stocks are low, but it'll get better!

Best!
