AV recorder
« on: January 31, 2012, 07:08:54 PM »
Could you recommend me a video av recorder to SD or HDD?

I want to use the 2nd av output of my 5.8ghz video receiver and connect to a simple cheap device that records direct to memory.  no screen no nothing just a simple recording device that can save in a format ready to copy to pc.

I've seen a device that records av to a 2.5IDE HDD for £25 delivered but needs a HDD in addition.  I'm not sure if the playback is av out only or if it can connect  and download to a pc?

Anyway I would be intetested to know if you guys have some ideas.

Cheers

What is this hard-drive recorder you are talking about? I'd be interested in that.

There are a bunch of AV recorders out there.

FPV-Japan DVR is quite popular on some other forums I'm on. Otherwise there are some Archos ones that will do it that can had off ebay.

Afraid I can't answer your question directly, but just to say I use a camcorder with AV input. Just sling it over my shoulder and forget about it.

good idea about the camcorder with av input but want a cheaper solution.

a mate sent me this link for DVR recorders.  First one looks cool as it has a built in screen and battery.

I am going to borrow the one with a screen as my mate said he already has one.  If I like I will get one myself.

When I was looking at this (before I figured out that my camcorder could do it) I looked into the jetview system and read not good things about it.  I can't remember the details but I think it was mostly based around quality of recording being "poor".

I use an archos 705, cost about £80 but it has a screen as backup or passengers

bit pricey for a DVR lol.  Wish there was an AV input on my Galaxy S2.

On a side note, I've just picked up some video glasses for £50.  can't wait to try them.  DVR is my last piece of kit I would like for my mini fpv setup.

The Aiptek ones are OK. I have the 6800 (I think) and it works well, £70 was good at the time but in hindsight the quality isn't too great and for an extra £10 you can get an Archos like Ben has, much better.

Hi Everyone,

FYI I have a mini DVR monitor on the website - very small, goes in your pocket and takes a direct AV in.

Check it out...only one left though...
