TBS Discovery FPV Warped Image
« on: July 19, 2013, 03:24:07 PM »
Hey All, just wanted to see if I could get some thoughts on an FPV video signal issue I'm having.  I have a TBS Discovery purchased a few weeks ago, below is my current build. When I am flying FPV using my FatSharks, the FPV image, especially through the middle of the screen is very shaky (warped), especially when facing towards any bright sunlight. It also get shaky at dusk and seems to get worse the more throttle I apply.  I have a friend who has almost 100% the same build, the only difference is my RX and TX so we were able to swap out parts to try and resolve the issue. We did the following tests and they were all done flying within 100 feet of my goggles. Here is what we tried to diagnose the issue.
TBS Discovery FPV Image 1 Small | Large

Used his Fatshark Goggles - no difference.
Swaped out the Video TX and used his Fatshark Goggles - no difference.
Swaped out the FPV camera - no difference.
Tried angling the Fatshark RX antenna in different directions to point at the Discovery - no difference.
Tried covering the RX1002 with foil to test for signal bleed interference - no difference.
Tried covering the VideoTX with foil - no difference.

The only thing we did not swap out was the NAZA, GPS, and TBS Core.

looks like video voltage levels! I would remove the osd and see how things are.
More remote could be, did you also change the antennas when checking.

Throttle related interference is nearly always, noise on the supply, try a separate battery for video or add a Low pass filter to the video supply.

Sorry can't help with naza or TBs core (whatever that is?)

I have a TBS Disco Pro with the exact same problem.
VTX is a TBS Boss 500mw, VRX is Fatshark Dominators, both with RHCP Spironets.
Did you ever get this solved?
