1KM Challenge.... Camera started dying mid-flight.

Check this out.... My camera (i assume?) started dying mid-flight... Got back just in time.

With a wing you would never get home but maybe with a rudder only model you could steer back to LOS just on the OSD alone?

I've just powered it back up at home and it started up fine but went fuzzy and faded to white just like the video.

Something strange is going on. Now my vTX seems to be playing up, I can't even get a solid OSD screen up and when I physically tap it or move it it's cutting in and out. I've pulled it out the plane and it's barely even working and the audio has got some crazy squealing sound which pitches up and down as I'm moving the vTX.

Aha you never guess what....

For this run I used a single battery to the ESC rather than my usual two. So I just put a second lipo in there to get the CG right and that connected to my vTX.

I had already put a flight on that battery but figured it had enough juice left as I usually land above 10.2v.

Well i guess it wasn't ok. The voltage went too low and the camera went out. Then at home testing the vTX started going funny. All the time using the same battery... which i just checked and it's below 9v.

says 11.7v when you landed  surely thats enough or is the osd reading incorrect?

Well that's the thing, for this run the vTX was being powered of a separate battery.

And that battery I already had a flight on it. I guess I figured it would have enough juice but clearly not. At least I know now what happens when my vTX batt gets low, the camera goes fuzzy!!

ah right! maybe you should fly with 2 linked in parallel in future?

Or get a 12v voltage regulator

Yeah well I normally fly with a pair in parallel.

Only this was the last flight of the day and I only had 1 pack left for some reason....

Both my sony 540 and 600 got similar issue when voltage drop lot belowe 11V around 10V then it's just grain..picture.
