« on: June 13, 2013, 10:52:07 PM »

Im on 5.8 at the min but want better penetration.

if you're on 5.8 video, am I right to assume you're also on 2.4 control?

if so then you're best off getting 1.2/1.3 equipment, I know mark and ben use it and get really good penetration (ooh er missus)

I'm on 2.4 video with UHF control, but I rarely fly low so can't advise how it performs in those situations

Yep im on 2.4 control I want to get the video side of things first then go on to UHF for the control when the funds build up.

well that completely rules out 2.4 video then lol, so your only option now is the 1.2/3 equipment. give Ben or Mark a shout for links for the gear they've bought. Think you can get a TX/RX bundle for around £100

Then it may be better to stick to 5.8ghz with Clover/Skew antenna for now then change the video to 1.2 at the sam etime as switching to UHF
This is because the second harmonic of 1.2ghz video is very near to 2.4 and can cause problems/glitching of servos etc

I think a lot of phone company's are switching over to 3g to 900mhz for the same penetrating reason ;)
