'Stills' Only plse !

early days with my ideafly and I only want to take stills - is the only way to simply take pictures, to spend a lot of money buying a camera that's video equipped ?

if you want "entry level" you can buy a canon point and shoot camera and load it with CHDK firmware. It makes it possible to do time lapse photography, meaning you set the camera to take still images every "x" seconds.

You have to check this list http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#Q._What_camera_models_are_supported_by_the_CHDK_program.3F

and find one of those cameras for a reasonable price on ebay, then figure out a way to mount it to your aircraft and away you go
