Just a quick question - will the Frsky system...

give me more usable range than say a standard spekky / jr 2.4g set up ?

Is the higher gain antenna a good idea also ?

i suppose i could boost the signal as well.

Has anyone got experience with this sort of a set up?

way more range than speccy,at best my JR speccy..700yds,frysky way over 1500yds..

got over 1.5km with my FRSky 2.4 gear, no glitches or failsafes... could have pushed it further but was out of video range (old 5.8 gear)

Is the df version worth having for the little extra ? Does it have better telemetry or something ??

the only telemetry these will give you will be a "beep" when the rssi starts to get low. so you decide whether that's worth it.

personally, I wouldn't pay the extra.

Ahhh but that beep can be used as a lost model finder

There are also other telemetry devices that you can attach to the receiver to get other info such as voltage, current etc
