Whats good in tems of Tricopter frames
« on: May 30, 2013, 10:56:05 AM »
Guys

Im looking for a tri copter frame and to be honest i cant find much out there that i like. Needs to be foldable as i want to keep this multicopter set up as compact as possible fo trudging up hills etc to remote places.

This is the the best i can find ( im not a fan of the cabon booms on other examples but similarily dont want to make a home brew either). I like the simple tri and Flitest wooden stuff but dont fancy the postage - any one else want one to share the postage ???

Jees that guy should go on the rip off list

That's a standard HK tricopter frame which you can get from them at a fraction of his price

Even from the Netherlands with very low shipping cost £29.36 INCLUDING delivery !

Well the fastest way if you're in a hurry is to make one..

Half a dozen 4mm bolts with nuts/washers
3 x 300mm x 10mm x 10mm wood for arms
6-8 x tie wraps
2 x plywood plates (top and bottom centre plates) just make a "T" copter, much easier and willl keep the props out of sight

Motors can be tie wrapped to the arms, you don't need fancy plates (makes things easier to replace too
Yaw mechanism can be made from parts bin, I had lots of spares for that here but I fear they've gone up in smoke as I think they were in my hard parts tray (just one big fat blob of melted plastic now
Someone here may have adopted the same RCExplorer method and will therefore have spares as you have to buy in 5 pairs at a time from HK

no calc I know of , normaly 1 third way back flys best on my early ones , less weight swinging around on the tail the better but some if it will be down to the mix of a kk2 board

Ant, getting around 8 to 12 mins on a turnigy 2200mah, also use a 3000mah but not really noticed a great deal of diffrence although its handy having extra mah with the lights on at night.

p.s thought I'd posted more pics so here they are cheer's Tony
