If you are using Windows the "paint" program (comes with Windows) has a very simple operation to change the size of an image which will overall reduce the file size. Digital cameras often take raw photos that are very large in pixel size that are too large for simple web posting purposes.
Depending on the version of windows you are running the instructions might differ but basically ...
Open "Paint" and go to "Resize".
A window should pop up with a radio selection that says "Percentage" or "Pixels" and either option is fine.
Make sure you check the checkbox that says "Maintain aspect ratio".
Make sure you don't have any zoom in effect by accident, stay at 100% so you can view the "real" size.
Adjust the height or width box until the image is smaller but still viewable and save it with another file name.
That's it, now post them!
