and they call FPV "unsafe"

Just found this video:
RC Jet Turbine Airliner (Huge Crash) (rc plane)
dont get me wrong on this one... I'm not slagging off this guy... it's a simple mistake to make and I'm sure we've all done it. I think someone mentioned that the ailerons were reversed.
But....
people cry and moan about how unsafe FPV is... I think the biggest FPV plane on here is a super skysurfer... a large chunk of soft (compared to a metal car) foam with the prop/motor at the back. The plane in the video had proper turbine jet complete with fuel... he even asks his pal to get his fire extinguisher... when was the last time one of us needed a bloody fire extinguisher when one of our FPV foamies had a crash?!?!?!?
my point is this:
FPV flying is no more dangerous than any other pre-existing area of RC model flying, and my personal opinion is that turbine jet model flying is the most dangerous in terms of potential damage and cost caused by "accidents"

Well if his ailerons were reversed then he gets no sympathy from me! Obviously too good of flyer to bother with pre-flight checks!

Oh my god! Obviously rushed to the field to show off new jet powered plank and forgot the basic checks. Lucky for him the engine was at the rear and all the foam absorbing the crash.
Crazy!

Hitting that empty spot between the cars was pretty lucky!

with LOS flying, in cases like that where control is lost and there's nothing left but to ditch it... you have no idea what is behind that bush, or fence or line of parked cars.... so yes very lucky
with FPV, if you had limited control like that I reckon you could do the same as what real pilots do and attempt to aim for an unpopulated area to ditch in.

he was lucky
to be honest , ive never had people screaming unsafe at fpv , i know there is some talk on the tinternet about it but most members of the public ,stop park up and want to chat about your project , on the internet its easy to sit in you chair on a computer a judge people, but thats the twisted world we live in , thank go good british people love to tinker about in our kitchen / garden shed , making things and go out and do something rarther than moan about what they dont have the imagination to do themselves.
if people could just live and let iive
