Has anybody tried one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2W-2-4Ghz-Wifi-Wireless-Broadband-Amplifier-Router-Power-Range-Signal-Booster-UK-/370763410102?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item565338aab6
I have heard stories about 3 - 5 mile range using this?

I have one here but not gotten round to using it yet
Word of caution though, if/when you do use one make damned sure that you're aircraft has a reliable RTH function
Any and all electronics can and will go wrong at some point
These boosters have been used by many for long range flights

Don't you have to butcher your radio ? I want one of these but don't like the thought of taking the back of my radio so was thinking of getting a cheap turnigy radio to play with.

yes that would be a down side, on the DX7 the arial does not just screw on so there would be some soldering to do. May be a good idea to get a Turnigy 9xr for £30 + shipping! I had thought about selling my DX7 in favour of the 9xr as there are loads of options when it comes to modules, I could still use DSM2 and also get a FrySky module and rx which is supposed to be very good.
