Why is gravity stronger over water ?
EZOSD RTL ?

Hi all
Im getting further and further out with my Rmilec Easystar. It has an Immersion EZOSD installed but im getting to the point that i want the facility to return to home which this unit doesnt have.
Is there any autopilot with rtl that i can 'add on' rather than strip out the EZOSD. If not i was thinking of putting the EZOSD on my 5.8G wing and putting a new OSD in the Easystar. Whats currently good and cheap with rtl? Arkbird? Anybody got anything second hand they want to sell ?
Cheers

as an "add-on", you could try ArduFlyer (APM2.5 clone), but as Cupid Stunt and I found out, it's a hell of a lot more involving that simply plugging it into your plane... I sold mine.
Cyclops StormOSD is currently the best value RTH capable OSD that I'm aware of but it will mean taking out EZOSD.
I'm like you, I use rmilec on my Bixler2 with great success so far, and it is capable of flying much further than I dare to fly without RTH.
I've moved my rmilec RX into my funjet now, having a bit of close in speed fun with that while I wait for my second rmilec RX to arrive (ordered ages ago
) once that's here I'll also be looking for a RTH solution for the Bixler 2 and Cyclops StormOSD is my first choice.

Cheers Corporal, I will probably give that a try. A quick search hasn't shown up any UK distributors so it looks like it will have to be from China!!

FY31AP everytime. Great bit of kit. You can get circling, RTH, waypoints etc etc. it is FANTASTIC and super easy to set up.
The Ardupilot stuff is also great but a bit tricky to use if your not computer savvy, the FY31AP just works!!
Hope that helps.

Seconded for the FY31AP - I bought one early in my FPV flying and as Shuntridge says - it does what it says on the tin and has saved my butt and least twice.
If I had to say anything negative about it - it doesnt play nicely with a very small number of ESC's - but you can just connect your ESC to the receiver instead of the FY31AP.
There may be some cheap FY31AP's coming up soon as the FY41AP has just been announced

oh yeah, forgot about the FY stuff. I had FY31AP once (till some scumbag on ebay stole it from me) worked quite well (see my vimeo channel corporalb for a clip of me testing it on a FPVRaptor). but when I put it in my skywalker I had nothing but problems... thought it was the AP but even after removing it the skywalker would roll left... turned out it was twisted wings and fuselage.
there's a product on hobbyking called F-Tek 31AP which some would say is a "clone" but Hobbyking are adamant that it's a genuine product manufactured by feyiutech, it's much cheaper than FY31AP too.
There's another product by FY called DOS, you can buy it with or without the GPS, either way it's cheaper than the FY31AP readymaderc sell it, I had email conversations with a supplier in China who could sell me one for $90 shipped via DHL. let me know if you want his email address

Storm is awesome Ant, been flying it today
some video of it later on when I've gone through all my footage.
I think StormOSD is going to be tough to beat for a long time.
