New personal best...
« on: January 15, 2012, 04:30:03 PM »
Happy day for me, went another 200m past me previous PB, now gone out to 1269 metres, although had to turn back not because of video, but lost control for a second or two on Dx6i, had two dropouts, will put video up later of when it failsafed (power dropped, turned left).

Need 35mhz badly!

Was never that fussed about planes before but well and truely excited about it now, oh lordy I can see me spending a fortune in the persuit of range :)

Nice one Balders - 1269m is pretty good on a DX6i - I've lost signal with mine about 700m away using the same radio, old set of batteries though. Hopefully I'll get a bit more out of it with a brand new set.

Are you using the UK setting in the options menu?

Yup - my orange RX (with satellite) is a pile of crap, wouldn't wish one on anyone.

I have a full range AR6200 on the Trex 500 - but want to leave the good receiver on there for now. Crashes with that are significantly more expensive!

Rx is a AR7000 with satellite mounted on fuselage, just under port wing. Def what you'd call "full range".

Weird thing is, I always thought if you had a "brown out" the lights would flash so you could tell on return. I had no flashing on main or satellite.

I remember seeing 103metres in the goggles, don't think I went above that.

Here's the video from the 808 on the wing (sorry it's also posted elsewhere)
