recommend me a charger...
« on: January 01, 2013, 07:51:03 PM »
All,

okay I have one charger for around 10 batteries and charging them all up takes an age...

So what do you recommend? looking to charge 3/4 packs at a time from the mains, I'll use my current charger in the field and when I'm home the main charger for i'm home and charging on mass.

Oh and to make it interesting i'd like to spend under 100 pounds!

Just buy a few more B6 type chargers they work out cheaper than one that can handle several baterries at once plus of course if one breaks you still have chargers and you haven't got to spend a fortune to replace it

are you charging 2-3s or are your packs 4s ?

you can charge 2x3s packs per charger with adapter to 6s that would cut it down to buying 1 more normal chargers to charge 4x 3s packs at once

I never use fast charge either, on my gens ace LiPos I do sometimes charge at 2C (eg, my 2200mah LiPo I set to charge at 2.2Amps @1C or 4.4amps @2C)

it charges faster and the LiPo claims to be able to be charged at 5C, but I'll never go that far.

In the end I have ordered a 400w. 4 channel turnigy charger
It's 100w per charger channel price inc balance boards and postage came in at about 98 pounds. I will need a psu for it though.

It will mean I charge 5 packs in an hour with my other charger as well

So in 2 hours I can be fully charged and ready to go again :)

okay so this is what I bought:

it can handle x4 packs at once so I charge 3s or 4s x4 and all at one 1c so thats around 4amps per pack on my 4s, no more 9 charge sessions for me :)

and these are the balance boards needed for it for zippys and overlanders
