Vtx broken but still works

Anyone know what this is that's broken?

are we talking about the brass coil thingy covered by the hard black plastic, top left of the picture?  could it be a torroid? inductor? or perhaps the VTX inbuild microphone?

I had this. I dropped my VTX and the brittle black plastic broke off, but it still worked fine.

Sheldon tells me its an LC filter, I always use a seperate one anyway so all is good, it still functions 100%

Looks to me like an inductor could be part of a LC filter indeed.
