ESCs and motors all soldered now. Before I can attach the stabilised mount, I need to think of a way to lift the whole tri up an inch or two.... that's where PK-Surfing comes in :) :)

I needed taller legs, so PK-Surfing made a CAD file based on a rough sketch I emailled him, I was able to convert this into the right format and upload it to http://www.ponoko.com who pass it on to Razorlab UK. it was laser cut and shipped within 2 days!!! brilliant service, here are the legs compared to the stock legs:

quality is brilliant, very impressed with both PK's work and Razorlab's work. these things are solid!!

They look real nice Chris, and the entire frame and build is looking top notch.

What sort of costs are you looking at for that service?  Great way to test ideas etc.

Well this set of 4 ended up costing me £26 including shipping, I'm sure if I approached the company direct I could get a deal for a bulk load, but I'd need a firm guarantee of at least 40 legs required.... in other words, 10 people who want a set of 4

It's finished (for LOS anyway)!!

Did some fiddling for a few hours calibrating ESCs and configuring the GUI, but I managed to complete the build tonight and even got a cheeky maiden in the dark, lit only by a security floodlight lol :)

had a few teething issues as usual, the tri just wanted to yaw really bad, but ignoring the multiwii manual that says to have all 3 props spinning the same way solved it. I now have the front two countering each other.

the flight after that was perfect, autolevel works brilliant straight outta the box so to speak (default settings) and tomorrow in daylight (and larger space) I'll be testing the altitude hold too.

here she is, flight ready and just begging for a GoPro w/vtx up front. I'm very pleased

new motors fitted now, they're much better than the previous ones. flies so much smoother and more responsive.

Cheers Mark... It will actually be for sale soon. I just need to find the MultiWii board programmer/usb adapter and film some footage so people know it's actually up and working lol. once I've figured out how much it's cost me, I'll advertise a price

:)

this is what I've spent on it so far (not including my time in putting it together)

motors - $30
ESCs - $30
servo - $20
MultiWii board - $80
tricopter frame - $95
silicone wire - $5
wood - $5
connectors(deans/bullets) - $2
velcro LiPo strap - $5

Total - $272, which according to Google at time of this post is £171

add to that my time... configuring multiwii/construction/soldering etc...

I'd like as close to £200 as possible, but I know thats asking a lot.

I think £180 delivered to UK address is a fair price to ask.

here it is today, flying nice and smooth.

You can see by the video how little setup is required, literally plug'n'play :)

My Father-in-law is coming to visit tomorrow. I'll be showing it off to him, then I'll be advertising it for sale (as long as I don't crash it lol)
