Happy building season everyone !
« on: October 28, 2012, 03:17:42 PM »
Well its chucking it down outside and i am not bothered one bit !

Nope, the end of October is officially the start of the building season and i love it !

Im taking a short break from FPV and fulfilling a life long dream to build a jet turbine (chosen plane is a boomerang sprint and thank god for 0% credit cards ). I also plan to improve some of my FPV ships and build the stealth Tri !

What are you building as the nights draw in and the choices are either a night in front of the telly with the wife or knocking up a masterpiece.

Would be great to see your winter projects !

Put my heli batteries on storage this week. Winter is setting in and its too cold for a full day in the field,

The building has started. Ive just got the DJI F550 which needs tweaking and me and a friend took delivery of 2x No.1 blunt nose flying wings, which we started yesterday.

Roll on summer lol. :D

I'm balancing "family time" with "bixler2 time", slowly but surely building my latest and (hopefully) greatest FPV Machine, the "Bixler2FPV"

How have you mounted/configured the antennas?

One vertical, fixed just before the motor and one horizontal running along the bottom of the fuz from motor towards tail. I built a angled stay to stop the vertical antenna going into the prop  ;D
Hopefully will bring it to the meet on Sunday if the weather is OK. Cheers

Thanks for the picture Ant, looks like that's how I'll be having mine too. How do you orientate your TX antenna? vertically or horizontal.

If I follow the instructions in the RmileC PDF, i'd have my antenna horizontal... but it would be nice to know what works well for somebody else :)

cheers

I did a lot of research on that issue when i was thinking about getting the system and there are/was a fair few people who had poor range with the arrangement as per the instructions - i appeciate that thats just peoples opinions !

I ran with a vertical Tx antenna and the rx antenna as described and it has been great.

Hope this helps mate.
