The "follow me" feature has been around for a few years, like "ROI" <Region of interest> is a cute little party trick but do it a few times and it gets boring as hell.

Apm and the likes were designed and developed to fly autonomous missions, the developers then started to include additions to the code to enable non-pilots to fly the the machines, this was functions like "simple mode" etc. probably in order to increase the customer base! more recently they have been including FPV in their programming goals (think this was the result of market forces!). and now because of open source it is all available to the man in the street for about £40

So any of these mystery companies tell you what super systems they have  and that $2000 is as cheap as chips then think again. The Crappy DJI Phantom absolute basic quad is still selling for $370, The cx-20/Quanum nova sells for about £177. and can already do more than the phantom! Also with third party companies, you don't get a choice of ancillary equipment, only what they have made to fit their crappy wares, and at their often elevated prices...

Wonder if it's pixhawk based or older apm , or prolly more likely they have designed there own pic band called it there own, the only thing on this that makes my think nice is the 25mins flight time . And that's up to 25 mins I bet it's no where near that in reality. Or it's std config

"up to" is the same as saying "zero to"

Using their own pic! Yes possible but I highly doubt it, then again using apm code without openly saying so is against the open source rules, and presumably the customer will be able to download and update his quad firmware!

The program must include source code, and must allow distribution in source code as well as compiled form.

be carefull though as some install their own customer firmware with very slight variations
The CX-20/Quanum Nova has slightly different code for the muxing of USB/Telemetry so an update can stop one or the other working due to hardware differences, also on board hardware drivers for the leds and suchlike can cause issues or require mods if the FC is swapped out

That looks cheap at first sight, like $15 or so from the competition. then check the shipping options and are forced to use:
Speed Post $58.85 = £37
or
Express $70.72  = £44.50

I suppose because of the huge cross section of user programming/flying capability, you are bound to hear of some fly-a-way stories. It's just that with DJI you pay more for your fly-a-way experience! ;)
