Yup fully aware from day 1 that shout would have an impact however on the other hand more than half the conversations in shout would never make it onto a thread either. Plus its also very handy to arrange the weekends flying. Perhaps shout users need to think before shouting (am i looking for information or do I have information to give) if so start a thread.

This ^^^^^ Is still the best answer I saw.  Shame it took the shoutbox to go for the topics to start rolling in..But hey man. It works   Good work ben!

thanks BM, posts are up to, we have had more in the last 48hrs than we have had in the last 3 weeks, over 100 yesterday. I dont know if we ever had over 100 before in a day, it would seem chatting is going on in threads instead.

seems to be more users online too, normally there's only around 4, but theres 10 on now and its pretty late

Really glad to see it coming back to life
The initial extra interest and excitement wil wain a little after the "honeymoon period" but it will still be greater in the short and long term

Trouble with shout boxes is that even if your seeking/asking the answer still gets posted in a shoutbox and lost forever
If I go to bed early I don't miss anything, it's there for me fresh in the morning for me to read and respond to

yes and when everyone is just using shout, guests who visit the site, can't see it so they must think site is dormant and not bother coming back.
